Why Hops?

Hopiness in a bottle

Last year, in 2019, we started exploring new plant-based ingredients that we could use as an alternative to hemp CBD. We sampled a number of plant extracts used medicinally for relaxation, restoration, calm, and cleansing: properties similar to those of our whole plant hemp extracts. After blending and tasting over a dozen combinations of ingredients, we found that hops – grown organically right here in the Pacific Northwest- are a surprising and complex addition to our current recipes and a seamless substitute for hemp.

Why Hops?

Hops, hemp, and marijuana all belong to the Cannabaceae family of flowering plants. A cousin to hemp, hops naturally share many of the flavors and aromas found in cannabis.

Although commonly added to beer to keep it fresher, longer hops is an incredibly nuanced and inviting ingredient in our elixirs. Bitter, floral, citrusy, and piney, our hop infused elixirs are an elevated non-alcoholic compliment to meals or an enticing refreshment on their own.
